In an article written for The Player’s Tribune, WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler wrote about his Top 5 favorite finishing moves of all time. Randy’s infamous RKO was among the list, read below to see what Dolph had to say:
This list wouldn’t feel complete without the RKO. It’s a great finisher and I’ve taken a few of them. There’s something just special about Randy’s athleticism. He so good at what I’m trying to accomplish that it makes me mad. He has a way of doing something incredibly difficult, while having a look on his face that says I’m thinking about Disneyland right now but I’m still wrestling better than you ever can.
So the RKO is kind of perfect for him because it’s a difficult looking move to pull off that he’s made stand out through art, showmanship and impact. He has many well-documented snake attributes, but he’s also so smooth in the ring that it adds a lot to the RKO. And like a lot of these great finishers, it comes out of nowhere. Like I’m pretty sure he even sells a shirt that says “Out of Nowhere” on it.

Paul Heyman introduces himself and he says that he knows you have been sitting on the edge of your seats to see the greatest combat sports athlete. Paul introduces the Beast of the Broctogon and the Viper Slayer . . . Brock Lesnar. Paul says on August 21st from the Barclays Center his client BROCK LESNAR will entertain you. Paul questions whether he advocated his client will entertain you? Brock’s form of entertainment is not the same style of entertainment they try to market and sell in the WWE. BROCK LESNAR’s form of entertainmetn is politically incorrect and . . . violent. Paul says he is not supposed to say that word but he is standing next to Brock Lesnar and he can say any damn word he wants to say. Brock is not here to put his stamp on the new era. He does not have to step up to the new era. The new era needs to step up to Brock Lesnar. Brock is not here to curry favor with Mick Foley, Stephanie McMahon, Vince McMahon, or any one in the locker room. That means Randy Orton. Paul asks Brock if he heard of Randy Orton. He is a third generation superstar. He is a twelve time WWE Champion. He possesses the great equalizer, the RKO. They say Randy is one RKO away from victory. They say if Randy Orton hits an RKO on Brock, Randy will shock the world the way that Brock shocked the world at Wrestlemania 30. Where does Randy Orton get these ideas? Maybe they are the voices in his head. Paul asks how many of these voices are telling you that Brock Lesnar is going to beat your ass at SummerSlam and drag you down to Suplex City. If those voices are not telling you that, those voices are full of mularkey. If your voices are telling you that and you are not listening to them, Paul asks Randy to listen to the wise old Jew. Randy Orton is going to beat your ass and drag you down to Suplex City. Paul says that they should take the victory out of the equation. Maybe they should talk about survival. Maybe you won’t go to the hospital. Maybe you will wrestle again in the year 2016. You will not get Brock in the position for the RKO.

Miz says it is a shame that Randy accepted the match with Lesnar because SummerSlam will be his last. Randy says SummerSlam won’t be his last match, but it also doesn’t have to be his first match back. Why not have his first match back tonight? Why not have that return take place against the Intercontinental Champion? Miz asks everyone if they want to see that match and after they appear interested in the match, he says no. You don’t just get a chance at the Intercontinental Title. Randy says the title does not have to be on the line, so why not something between friends. Miz says they are friends since he beat Randy for the WWE Title. He says he is not falling for Randy’s tricks. Randy asks Miz if he is afraid of getting his ass whipped in front of Miz’ wife.
