Randy Orton comes to the ring and he has something to say. Randy says he knows why Bray Wyatt likes to talk about fear. By playing mind games, you think you will take away his focus. You attack people from behind like you did at Backlash. You do it because you are afraid. People are afraid of many things . . . heights, spiders, snakes. He says Bray Wyatt, you are afraid of him. Enough mind games and sneak attacks. He wants Bray to get his ass to teh ring, if he is man enough and face your fears. The lights go out and Bray appears on the TitanTron. Bray asks if Randy ever heard of Hansel and Gretel. He says he heard Randy telling his kids about it. Two kids in a deep, dark place and they leave breadcrumbs to leave a trail home. Bray says he left his own trail and it takes Randy through the prison that is his mind. Bray says this is his world and he is a God. Bray says he makes the rules. Bray tells Randy to hurry because the sands of time wait for no mortal man.
Bray starts singing. Orton leaves the ring and heads to the back.
Backstage: Bray Wyatt’s music plays and we see Randy Orton walking through the bowels of the building looking for Wyatt. He sees a symbol on the wall and Orton turns it and then Orton hears a noise. Orton walks away and the symbol is turned again as we see Erick Rowan standing there.
Backstage: Randy Orton continues his tour of the bowels of the arena and he walks past a door that says “I Am a God” and another one that says to choose wisely. The other door says “Predator or Prey” Randy opens the door that says ‘I am a God” and there is a cardboard cutout of Randy inside. Randy goes to the other door and he opens it and it is Erick Rowan waiting inside for him. Orton does not open the door fully and closes it.
Backstage: Bray Wyatt shows up and he says he is disappointed in Randy Orton. He says the viper has no fangs and he has no poison. You are taking all of the fun out of his game. Where are you Randy? Bray wants to know where is the great predator? We see a masked man appear behind Bray and it is Randy Orton. Bray calls Randy a coward, not knowing Randy is standing right behind him. Orton punches Wyatt but Wyatt with a knee and he leaves. Randy sits down on Bray’s stool and he puts the mask on and he laughs and then there is a glitch so we see Bray again.
Randy Orton versus Erick Rowan
Orton goes for the RKO right away but Rowan pushes him away. Rowan with a spinning power slam and then he punches Orton and drops an elbow or two. Rowan with a forearm but Orton kicks Rowan. Orton with forearms but Rowan with a kick and head butt. Rowan with a drop kick and Orton goes to the floor. Rowan sends Orton into the ring steps and then he sends Orton back into the ring as Rowan poses. Orton kicks Rowan as he tries to get back into the ring and Orton hits the IEDDT. Orton looks around and then he twists to the mat and pounds it before he hits the RKO and gets the three count.
Winner: Randy Orton
After the match: the lights go out and then they go back on but the ring only contains Orton and a lamb mask.
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. Randy tells Bray all you do is talk. You say you’re the face of fear and he finally know what that means. You are the face of fear because you are afraid. You are afraid of him. You were afraid of him on Sunday so you attacked him from behind. It did not work. You are not the first and you won’t be the last. Randy says he is in the ring by himself so if you have the balls, come to the ring and face your fear.
Bray appears on the TitanTron and he says a wise man knows when to stay down. This world we live in is cruel and unfair. He gave Randy a gift. He gave him a way out. All you had to do was stay down and you didn’t. Instead you chose to embarrass him. Bray says he did not like that. He knows what he must do. He cannot stop. Until death do us part. Not fire, daggers, or bullets will end this. Don’t sleep. DO NOT SLEEP.
The lights go out and then they go back on and Bray is at ringside behind Orton. Bray sits on the announce table and he removes his hat and vest. Randy waits for Bray, but Bray is not going to fight him. The lights go out and they come back on and Erick Rowan is in the ring and he attacks Randy from behind. Rowan tries to continue his attack but Orton with an RKO.
Backstage: Bray Wyatt had attacked Randy Orton, who was on the floor, and was slammed a door on his ankle.
Bray Wyatt came to the ring. The crowd chanted for “Randy.” They announced that due to injury, Randy Orton will not be competing. Wyatt demanded they ring the bell, so he could win by forfeit. They rang the bell and began counting Orton out. Wyatt was announced the winner via forfeit. They then announced Wyatt would compete in a No Holds Barred Match against….Kane.
Kane vs. Bray Wyatt: No Holds Barred
Kane set up a chair and called for a tombstone but Wyatt slipped out and drilled him with a Uranage on the chair for a two count. Randy Orton came out and began limping towards the ring. The crowd chanted for Orton. Bray turned his attention to Orton but Kane sat him. Orton caught him with the RKO out of nowhere and left the ring.
Kane grabbed Wyatt and nailed a chokeslam for the pin.
Bray introduces himself to Randy and he says that is his game. He eradicates the infected. If you really do have voices in your head and they tell you what to do, he hopes they tell you to run. Run Randy. Run.
Randy’s music plays and he makes his way to the stage and then he goes at the Ortonly pace to the ring. Randy tells Bray the voices in his head, they are asking who the hell does this guy think he is. Bray thinks that Randy is damaged because he has staples in his head? Randy says he has been damaged for a long time and that gives him his charm. From one damaged man to another, he tells Bray he has his attention. Bray says that is what he wanted. That is the predator he wanted to see. That is the courage that he appreciates. You are no longer the predator in this situation. You are damaged. You are weak. Bray says that he is the predator now. You should know better than anyone what a predator does best. He kills. At Backlash, he will cut the serpent’s head off and put it on his mantle like the trophy you are.
Randy says he has played that game with many people before and he is still standing here. Randy mentions the scars from Cactus Jack and The Undertaker. Those are not the scars you have to worry about. They are the internal scars and the demons inside. Maybe that is why he half ass respects Bray. He knows Bray has demons too. So Bray Wyatt wants Randy Orton at Backlash. You got it. Randy says fear . . . he is not afraid of Bray. He is not afraid of a man who calls himself a God. Randy says he is not afraid of kicking Bray’s ass . . . right now. Orton goes into the ring and the lights go out.
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. Randy says he bets people did not expect to see him here tonight, but here he is. He says if you couldn’t tell by the ten staples holding his head together, he was in one hell of a fight on Sunday night against Brock Lesnar. Randy says he knew what he was getting into, but he would have rather been carted out unconscious than what happened. Shane thought by intervening he did the right thing, but their paths will cross again.
Bray Wyatt’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring. Bray asks Randy how is his head. He says he saw what Brock did to him and he saw the look in your eyes change. It went blank. There is nothing like laying there with you head busted open to remember that you are just a man. You are a great man, but just a man. A man who hurts, a man who suffers. A man who dies. Bray says he is not just a man. He is a god. A God can never die. You will find all about it . . . in time.
