Wade Barrett vs Randy Orton
Barrett already in the ring. Orton out to face him.
They lock up, Orton backed into a corner. Barrett without a clean break. Barrett runs the ropes into a Thesz Press, then beats on Barrett. They end up outside. Barrett tries to get the upper hand, but Orton blocks. Barrett eats the top of announce. Upper cut, then Barrett into the barrier and hits the floor. Back into the ring Orton pins for two. Orton stomps his way around Barrett. A boot to Barrett’s head. Orton sends Barrett out. Cole says this is episode 1,025, over 2,090 hours of TV entertainment.
Orton elbows out of a chinlock, but then right into a high knee. During the break Barrett blocked Orton and sent him out to the floor. He’s back on Orton with a reverse chinlock on the mat. The fans behind Orton as he gets to his feet and headbutts free. Barrett telegraphs and is kicked, but then Barrett takes Orton down again for two. Barrett sets Orton up on the apron, then kicks Orton in the head for two. Reverse chinlock on the mat, but Orton struggles to his knees, then reaches for the ropes. Orton to his feet and suplexes free of Barrett.
Both slow to their feet. They exchange blows. Kicks and blows from Barrett. Orton whipped, but comes out with a clothesline. More clothesline, then that sick power slam. Barrett on the apron, Orton approaches and Barrett hangs him up top. Orton in and feeds Barrett a backbreaker. Barrett to the apron and he eats Orton’s ‘vintage’ DDT! JBL calls it ‘vintage’, mocking Cole. Orton pounds the mat, but Barrett up and pushes Orton off. Orton shoulder first into the corner, then he eats Barrett’s elbow for three.

Randy Orton versus Damien Sandow
They lock up and Orton backs Sandow into the corner and Sandow tells the referee to do his job while Sandow goes to the apron. They lock up again and Orton with a hammer lock but Sandow with a reversal and side head lock. Orton with forearms and Sandow with a shoulder tackle. Sandow takes a bow.
They lock up and Orton with a side head lock and shoulder tackles. Orton blocks a hip toss and gives Sandow a hip toss of his own and Sandow goes to the floor but Orton goes after Sandow and knocks Sandow down outside the ring. Orton returns to the ring and we go to commercial.
During the commercial break during the Orton/Sandow match, they showed a video package of Kofi Kingston talking about how he was bullied as a child and talked about the Be A Star program.
We are back and Sandow with a side head lock but Orton with a belly-to-back suplex to get out of the hold and Orton gets a near fall. Orton with a European uppercut but Sandow tries to send Orton into the turnbuckles but Orton sends Sandow into the turnbuckles. Orton with a drop kick for a near fall.
Orton stomps on the chest and then he drops a knee to the head. Orton misses a leaping knee drop when Sandow moves out of the way. Orton blocks a suplex attempt and Orton hits a suplex of his own. Orton gets a near fall. Orton runs the laces of his boot against Sandow’s face.
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. Antonio Cesaro makes his way to the ring, waving an American Flag.
United States Champion Antonio Cesaro vs. Randy Orton
Randy and Orton lock up, as Cesaro locks in an Arm Bar. Cesaro gets the Wrist Lock, followed by a Hammerlock. Cesaro pushes Orton against the ropes, but is taken down with a shoulder. Cesaro kicks Orton, following with a few European Uppercuts. Orton kicks Antonio, then throwing him out of the ring. Cesaro is taken out on the floor with a Lariat. Orton gets back in the ring.
Cesaro has Orton locked in a Cobra Clutch on the mat. Orton stands up,elbowing out. Orton follows with a headbutt and European Uppercut. Orton runs the ropes, but is taken out with a Clothesline. Pin, but a kick out. Cesaro connects with a Gut Wrench Suplex. Pin, but a kick out. Cesaro throws Orton into the corner, throwing fists. Cesaro takes him out with a Snapmare, locking in another Cobra Clutch. Orton punches out, but is kneed. Orton is thrown into the corner, but rolls up Cesaro with a Float Over. Pin, but a kick out. Cesaro connects with a Falcon Arrow, followed by a pin. Kick out. Cesaro throws Orton into the corner, but is taken out with two Lariats and a Scoop Slam. Cesaro is kicked after Orton runs the ropes, but connects with a Swiss Death Uppercut. Pin, but a kick out. Cesaro is whipped into the corner, but knees Orton in the face. Orton connects with a Backbreaker to Cesaro. Antonio is put on the apron, and is hit with a Rope Elevated DDT. Orton coils for an RKO, but the Shield begin attacking Orton.
Winner: Randy Orton via disqualification
The Shield picks up Orton, connecting with a Triple Powerbomb.
Backstage: Striker says Orton will be in the Royal Rumble this year, as will Sheamus. Orton says he’s won before and will win again. 3MB comes in and Slater says they’re in the Royal Rumble, and one will go on to victory at WrestleMania. Orton asks who will face Orton tonight? Slater says to pick one. Orton says after tonight Slater won’t be playing lead guitar, he’ll be playing the harp.
Heath Slater w/ 3MB vs Orton
3MB are in the ring playing air guitar. Orton out to face Slater.
3MB leave the ring and Slater on Orton, but out back on Slater with a shoulder block. Orton runs the ropes over and under Slater into a hip toss, but then Orton takes Slater down for two. Slater back with blows on Orton, but the ref pulls Slater back and Orton back on him with kicks. Slater to the mat, then cowers, but sends Orton out. Both Drew and Mahal pay for going after Orton. Slater with a drop kick through the ropes on Orton, then 3MB attack him outside. Slater goes out, sends Orton back in and pins for two.
Sandow will perform next week on Saturday Morning Slam to clean up the rubbish. He will compete in the ring and implement a rigorous syllabus of English, Science, Astronomy, Spelling…
Randy Orton interrupts and he has a spelling lesson for Damien and he spells out RKO. He says that he will be happy to teach him in the ring next week.
Orton leaves and Sandow says that does not spell anything.
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. Randy speaks of saying that tonight is the first Smackdown of 2013, he will make his New Year’s Resolution short and sweet. Randy said he will be World Heavyweight Champion. Orton says a while ago, Smackdown was his show. To change that, Orton says he has entered into the Royal Rumble. Sheamus interrupts and makes his way to the ring.
Sheamus says he isn’t here to steal Orton’s thunder, but came out to say he wants to be World Heavyweight Champion once again. Sheamus says he too will be in the Royal Rumble. Sheamus says he also came to thank Randy when he helped take out The Shield. Orton says he did it for him, just like the Rumble. Sheamus reminds Randy that he won last year, and Randy says that would make it better. Sheamus asks Randy if he Brouge Kicks Randy’s head off, but his body stays in the ring, would it count as elimination. Big Show interrupts.
Big Show says they might get a chance to get to his title, but all they will get a shot at is his fist. Show says Sheamus’ 2013 will be the same as 2012, him losing. Show says Orton can try, but will stomp the snake into the grown. Show says he is the most dominant champion the WWE has seen. Antonio Cesaro interrupts.
