Orton got the Q&A started by letting everybody know how impressed he was by the FCW facility and just how big an advantage a state-of-the-art facility could make in training the WWE’s superstars of the future.

“When I got started in WWE development I was in Louisville, Kentucky, in OVW and we had one ring in what was like an old, World War II ammunition factory – it was old, it was torn up, and it wasn’t up to code, that’s for sure. It wasn’t the best conditions, that’s for sure. I don’t want it to sound like I’m complaining, but this is the first time I’ve set foot in this facility, and it’s really amazing,” said Orton. “It’s such a big difference, it’s amazing. When you have 20 guys sitting on the floor at practice and two guys in the ring, or four if it’s a tag match, not a lot of guys are getting ring time. But, more rings means more ring time and it really accelerates the learning process. It’s night and day from when I started seven or eight years ago to now and it’s really great for these guys coming up.”

Orton also took the time to talk about how impressed he was by all the attention to detail that Smackdown vs. Raw 2009’s developers put into making the game as true-to-life as they possibly could, all the way down to his distinctive swagger as he walks down to the ring.

“Over in Germany we had a similar function and I actually got a chance to play the game, and what really jumped out at me was the graphics and my ring entrance and how close it was to me – the little things like the way I walk, the way my head turns from left to right, the way my eyebrows move – (THQ) really hit it to a tee. It’s perfect. It’s amazing.”

While Orton is an old pro when it comes to being part of the WWE’s videogames, this is Beth Phoenix’s first time appearing in a Smackdown vs. Raw game, and she didn’t even attempt to hide her excitement to be included in this year’s game.

“This is my first time being in a videogame and I actually got a chance to play it and it was really cool. The whole process was really neat, to get scanned and to have THQ really work closely with us to make the likeness of our characters really, really great. Seeing my character for the first time was an amazing experience.”

“You’ll have to tell me what that’s like,” said Jack Swagger, who figures to be included in future installments of the franchise after breaking in with the WWE earlier this year.

Orton, a big gaming fan, also chimed in how cool it is that gamers have the freedom to create their own finishing moves in this year’s game, and related it to his own experience growing up playing the Mortal Kombat franchise.

“I think it’s huge,” said Orton. “The create your own wrestler feature is pretty popular and my brother and my friends all get really into creating their own wrestlers. I tried it once and you almost have to lock yourself in a room for 10 hours just to learn all the controls, but they have it down to a tee. The fact that they have the finishing moves is huge. For instance, they have my RKO, and this year they added my kick to the head, so I have two finishing moves. Back in the day when I used to play Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis and the Game Gear you would work towards getting that finishing move in and that was the whole point – you wanted to get that finishing move in and beat them with that move. It’s cool that you have so many finishers to choose from, and the fact that you can create your own only makes the game more interesting.”

Although Orton felt that his recent injuries where a blessing in disguise because they allowed him the time away from the ring to be present for the birth of his daughter and to spend the first three months of her life at home with his family, he also offered gamers one tip to help guide them on the Road to Wrestlemania – stay hot, and even more importantly, stay healthy.

Orton was quick to point out that nothing can dash a WWE superstar’s hopes of performing on the biggest stage of them all the way an injury can, and that the single most important thing a wrestler can do to afford him or herself the opportunity to wrestle at Wrestlemania is to make sure that he or she is fit to wrestle when the opportunity comes along.

So, take it from The Legend Killer: when you pick up Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 this Sunday, Nov. 9, and start your own Road to Wrestlemania, above all else, make sure your superstar stays hot and healthy and you’ll be doing yourself a huge favor in your quest to headline sports entertainment’s premiere showcase.

At the end of her meeting with Triple H, Jessica gave him get well cards for John Cena, who recently had surgery for a herniated disk, and St. Louis native, Randy Orton, who’s been out for months with a torn pectoral muscle.

After meeting their favorite Superstars, the Circle of Champions honorees were met by Shawn Michaels, despite his eye injury and his recent triceps injury, and the Legend Killer himself, who specifically came to thank Jessica for the lovely get well card.

“Jessica’s a sweet child. She’s a big fan of the Legend Killer. It’s so uplifting to see the kids, because they’re strong and have such big hearts. It shows a lot about their character and personalities. I perform better knowing they’re in the crowd cheering for me,” said Orton, the three-time World Champion, who made an appearance on Monday Night Raw.

Orton says: “Our german fans always rock the house. It’s amazing to meet so many fans during my visit. It’s crazy here, but who can blame them for going nuts when the “Legend Killer” is in town!”

The world-famous former WWE Champion showed his friendly side: On the occasion of the upcoming Survivor Series Tour in November and the upcoming SummerSlam, the US Superstar answered all incoming questions, even the not so pleasant ones.

WWE has been filling the arenas for over 20 years. The new Wrestling Generation kicks off a gigantic hype and thrills their fans with spectacular and never before seen moves. The current Generation, to which Randy Orton belongs as well, has planned to take the WWE to new heights.

In closing Randy Orton added: “Germany is always something special for me. I’m excited to come back in November and show the german fans why I am the best of the best.”
