At the top of the hour, Orton was shown staring into space with disgust before Shawn Michaels came out to his standard “Sexy Boy” theme music. Michaels bounced to the ring and posed as Orton stared down at the floor.
Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels — Elimination Chamber qualifying match
The bell sounded and they had a brief stare down before locking up. Orton drove Michaels to the corner, then he broke and Michaels glared at him with his John Wayne ice-cold look. Orton met him with an equally-icy glare before missing with a right hand and Michaels landed a knife-edge chop to the chest. Michaels then hit a neckbreaker and teased the superkick, but Orton bailed to the floor. Michaels followed and the chase was on back into the ring where Orton teased the spike DDT, but Michaels blocked, landed a chop, and went up top where he hit a flying cross-body block for a two count. Orton then sent Michaels upside down in the corner before hitting the fallaway backbreaker to focus his attack on Michaels’s lower back, which prompted Michael Cole’s standard back injury history lesson.

Orton slowed things down with a focused attack as the announcers talked about both men being in a fragile state of mind. Orton then took Michaels up top, but Michaels knocked Orton off the top with forearm strikes before hitting a flying elbow drop. Michaels then went to the corner to tune up the band at 6:00, but Orton ducked and teased the RKO, only to have Michaels hit an atomic drop and chop combo twice. Michaels then flew off the ropes with a trademark flying elbow smash. He was about to do the classic kip up, but Orton grabbed him in mid-air and rolled up Michaels for the surprise pin and the win.

Post-match: Orton walked out of the ring pleased with himself in his own way while Michaels fought himself on screwing up again. Orton’s music stopped and Michaels walked around the ring in frustration. Michaels ripped off his wrist bands and stomped out of the ring muttering to himself. The announcers talked about it being a frustrating 24 hours as Michaels disappeared in the back.

Winner: Orton at 6:37 to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match. Only went seven minutes, but it felt like a longer match. Great storytelling from both men and a great finish with the flurry at the end before Orton made the big counter. If only someone would roll up Cena on the “You Can’t See Me” hand wave. Michaels’s post-match storytelling was well done to hook viewers on what’s next.

Backstage
: Ted DiBiase stopped Randy Orton and congratulated him on the win before apologizing for what happened last night. He said he can’t speak for Cody, but he’s sorry. Orton then got in his face and simply glared at him without saying a word. Orton as the silent assassin is great. Orton walked off, then DiBiase made a pouty face to sell his confusion.

I love it! Way to go Viper! That was awesome….I like that he’s a “man of few words”…it’s very becoming of him… I really cannot say enough because everything I would say is just not enough. :D

Okay first off as an Edge fan I am urber excited that he’s back. SD just wasn’t the same without him!

I am a huge HBK fan and have been since I was a kid so anytime HBK and RKO get in the ring together I flip the f*ck out lol. I just love them, they have such great chemistry and they always put on a great match. I am most of the time 50/50 with these two as far as who I mark out for during their match. One minute I’m yelling, “Hit him Shawn!” The next I’m yelling, “Get up Randy!” “No, Shawn!” “Get him Randy!” “Tune up the Band!!” “RKO him!!” LOL, so it’s always exciting for me.

If I could have changed one thing was to see a hell of a lot more Legacy. I was hoping for some major fallout from the RR tonight and didn’t get nothing more than a staredown from Randy; albeit an awesome and incredibly hot stare down, I still wanted more. Cody, technically, was the one who cost Randy the title and we didn’t get anything from him. I am hoping for some drama next week. Either the WWE dropped the ball or they know exactly what they are doing to make sure I tune in next week. They shouldn’t have to try so hard, as long as Randy is on RAW I am not missing a show.

Couldn’t have said it better :D

Glad to see RKO on a winning streak. I feel it for HBK, but hey it’s Orton’s time ALL THE TIME so just sit down and let evolution take place. HHH needs to do that – NOW.

Also, I’m a bit saddened by the lack of Legacy… but the stare down was hot and worth it. However, where’s Cody???? I wanted him to come out and say something. Do something. But whatever. Next week I am tuning in to see how this Legacy feud progresses!

RKO FOR LIFE!!!!!

Sidenote: I watched the RR 30 man match and kept mistaking McIntyre for HHH and vice verse. It’s freaky how much Drew emulates a younger HHH.

@Joel OMG, yes! When Drew and HHH were on at each other i was thinking HHH looks like he’s fighting himself (younger and leaner though)…but yeah, that’s how it was. Especially with the hair and all. I thought I was the only one who noticed. :P

Gotta admit, RAW didn’t put me to sleep last night and all in all it was a good show. I was hoping for more than just a 5 second stare between legacy, but it will be interesting to see what happens next week and in the EC match later this month.

Raw was interesting last night!!!

I agree with all the previous comments, I think there should have been some more Legacy interaction. I was really thinking Randy would have interfered in both Cody and Ted’s matches. Because Ted is now in the Elimination Chamber, I have a strong feeling that this is all leading to a confrontation between Randy and Ted/Cody at Wrestlemania. I rathering see Randy in the main event but of well, can’t have everything!

Also, did anyone notice that Jerry the King kept calling Cody “randy” or “orton” all through his match against Triple H. That was hilarious!!! At least he caught himself!

Also, I agree with you Gen, I used to adore Shawn back in the day…and even though I love Randy now, there were times during the match last night that I was cheering for both, but I was happy to see that Randy won!!!

All I have to say is Orton is a badass! Lol no but seriously…It was a good match between Orton and HBK. It was an equal fight and had me guessing the winner the whole way through. Thats what WWE needs to do all of the time. Orton and Ted might go off on each other in the EC match though, I’m kind of excited!

No wrestler in the WWE has ever won my heart the way Randy did.
I’ve been watching WWF-WWE for the past 10 years and i must say in all honesty that Randy is the best there was, there is, and there ever will be.
Yeah HBK, HHH, TAKER, & THE HITMAN won my heart at one point in time but the moment The Viper came in the picture, I dropped all and picked him.
So i can’t be comtemplating on ‘who i want to win’ when Randy is in the picture cos i’ll and forever be saying; ‘Randy! Randy!!, Randy!!!’,
‘please RKO him’, ‘ the the push-up now’, ‘his is btw the ropes, the hanging DDT quick!!’, ‘the punt’, ‘the chin-lock’…….

@RR
I was having this bad feeling last Sunday before the PPV-RR…deep inside me, i knew his victory over Sheamus will be too good to be true [not that he can't beat Sheamus: ofcourse he can but you just get this feeling you know...].
And whats this am hearing that ‘CODY AND TED WHERE CONFUSED ON WHAT TO DO AFTER THE BICYCLE BY SNOW WHITE ON RKO’
Well one thing is for sure=>CODY & TED BETRAYED ORTON AND THE REASON IS/WAS JEALOUSY. They ‘screwed’ him as Vince would say.

@ROAD TO EC

Nice pin bro.
Loved the stumping on the gutz of HBK (sexy boy my foot).

Serves Cody right.
I’m startin nu dislike him too.
As for Ted, well he just qualified for qualifying sake…he doesn’t stand a chance…believe me.

BTW=>I’M NO FAIR WEATHER FRIEND OF RANDY, CHAMP OR NO CHAMP HE’S STILL MA NUMBER ONE…BYE

Nice to have Adam back and thanks to the drama pulled by the WWE He won the RR…..officially Cena has broken his promise cos when you ain’t winning, you are…….

@Joel: I’m glad we can agree on something lol. Though I am starting to see what you meant about Kingston. I was really rooting for him, but he’s just been disappointing me. The match with him and Show was horrible. I know wrestlers will botch every now and then, but I really didn’t want him to win after he fell from the top rope. He made that mistake and seemed like he couldn’t get back into the groove of things. He messed up the drop kick and poor Show sold it anyway. I don’t like him in the EC but bitching about it won’t change anything.

@Ford31083: I noticed that King kept Calling Cody Orton lol. I was like, “Come on King get it together! Last week you called Randy Savage! And he hasn’t been around for a million years!” LOL!

HBK just started it all for me. He is always going to be my favorite superstar of all time, but Randy is just something special and his name will always come out first when asked who is my favorite WWE wrestler. I love their matches because I know those two guys are going to give me a show.

@Orton1.0: I always want Randy to come out with win despite whoever it is. Is he my only favorite superstar? No, that would just be too boring for me. I’ll mark out for Randy against anybody. As for Cody and Ted they are the future of the WWE. They are still green but both of them are making some serious progress, especially Cody. We already saw a feud between Randy and Cody so I am very interested to see what Ted can bring to the table. As much I would hate to see the end of Legacy I would LOVE to see Orton out there on his own handling business like he used to.

As for EC, I am incredibly excited to see what happens. There are so many rumors floating around it seems everyone is very interested to see what the outcome of the chamber will be. I don’t think Shaeumus is credible enough to have a main event match at Wrestlemania so I’m hoping he’ll drop the title. To whom? That would be Randy, but I won’t hold my breath. I have been waiting since Randy lost the title for him to regain it again. Though I do like the hunt for the title when it comes to Randy more than him having it. He’s his best when he’s gunning for it, you just don’t know what craziness he’ll do.
