WWE champion SHEAMUS vs. EVAN BOURNE — non-title match
The bell sounded and #1 contender Randy Orton slowly walked out on stage to get a close look at the action. Evan Bourne has qualified for the Rumble, of note. Who knows how. Orton made his way to ringside and Sheamus stopped to glare at him. Meanwhile, Bourne smashed him in the back of the knee with a kick strike before landing a leaping kick strike. He followed with a double knee smash off the top rope for a two count. Sheamus then hit a backbreaker to cut off Bourne’s momentum before hitting a bicycle kick. Sheamus then put Bourne up in the air for his Outsider’s Edge finisher and the win.

WINNER: Sheamus at 2:05. I don’t agree with throwing the champion in a segment without any hype and where he loses credibility points for nearly being pinned by someone who never wins matches on TV, even with Orton’s distraction. WWE needs to build up Sheamus right now, not put him in a position to look vulnerable every week. (n/a)

Post-match: Orton slowly walked into the ring as the announcers tried to cover for the match that could have ruined Sheamus’s credibility by saying Orton got in Sheamus’s head, which nearly cost Sheamus the win. Orton entered the ring and stared down Sheamus, who grabbed his WWE Title belt and held it up in the air to boos. A few fans chanted, “Randy, Randy” during this. Sheamus then left the ring without any further physicality.

In-ring: Randy Orton came to the ring for a match. He did the full ring intro and stared into the crowd before Chris Masters came out as the opponent. Virtually no reaction for Masters, who came out to that generic new rock music and Eve by his side.

RANDY ORTON vs. CHRIS MASTERS (w/Eve)
The bell sounded and Sheamus’s music hit to bring out the WWE champion for a closer look. Formula, but good stuff with Orton and Sheamus here. Masters and Orton locked up center ring and Masters landed a hard shoulder block. The crowd hasn’t heard Masters turned babyface. Masters tried the Masterlock, but Orton flung him away, only to take a powerslam for a two count. They showed Sheamus staring intently into the ring as Orton came back with a fallaway backbreaker. Orton then got down on the mat to set up the RKO, but Masters countered into the Masterlock. Orton tried to escape by grabbing the ropes and he started to fade, which drew Masters into a trap for Orton to grab the ropes for a break. Masters then approached Orton for follow-up offense, but Orton dropped him with the RKO out of nowhere. Orton made the pin for the win.

WINNER: Orton at 2:50. Really intriguing segment here. There was a babyface that Knoxville hadn’t heard turned babyface, a long-standing heel playing for sympathy, and the WWE champion. It was just different and in a good way. The post-match put good heat on Sheamus with WWE subtly making Orton the default babyface for the Rumble. WWE gets a B+ for developing the Orton-Sheamus program for the Rumble on this week’s show. (*)

Post-match: Orton sold neck pain, then suddenly turned around to find a bicycle kick to the face from Orton. One clean blow. Sheamus then put his boot on Orton’s head and declared himself the winner tonight. Sheamus slowly left the ring, leaving Orton out cold in the ring. Sheamus then lifted the WWE Title belt up in the air to close the segment.

DOWN WITH SHEAMUS!!!

What the hell was up with Raw tonight????!!! I WASTED – minus when Randy and Legacy came on screen – 3 HOURS of my life!!!!! And then we have Sheamus toppling over an unconscious Randy?!!!! WHAT?!!!! Randy needs to just PUNT that no-name, tan-less person into the next life and BEYOND!!!

Aside from that, Randy looked hot.

RKO FOR LIFE!!!!

I think Raw was slightly (and I stress the word slightly) decent this week. Before I address the Randy-issue, the rest of it was okay, Undertaker and Shawn was interesting ( we obviously know that will be the main event at Wrestlemania 26), the ending with Triple H, Cena, Shawn, and Big Show was great, (I see signs of the old Triple H—even though I know this is just a momentary Royal Rumble hype thing, it’s great to see the – “serious, determined, do anything to get the World Title”- Triple H back!!!)

I refuse to address this guest host thing—it gets worse and worse every week!!!!

Now onto the “Randy-issue”………I really wanted to see this feud (and I do hope that’s what the WWE chooses to make it, an on-going feud) and so far it is not disappointing. Even though, I was thoroughly POed when our favorite guy was kicked in the face by the our waaaayy too pale Irish friend…..I loved the first segment when Randy stared him down. To say that Randy has the facial expression thing down to a science is a gross understatement…He stared him down so hard that the look in his eyes made me scared, gosh Randy, seriously!!! Whoa!!!

I loved the RKO and Randy chants!! You can definitely tell that this will help to give Randy more of that heel pop that Stone Cold got back when he first feuded with Bret. It’s hard to call this when two heels go at it, one usually ends up turning face (and I sincerely hope it isn’t Randy, he’s tooooo good as the bad guy). Can’t wait til next week to see how they step it up another notch to the Royal Rumble!!!! This will be fun, I hope Sheamus is up for it!!!!

BTW- that was a lovely RKO today, out of nowhere, as usual, lolol!!!!

OMG, Randy and his precious head got a boot from Sheamus???? Hand me the tanning lotion and oil!!!! I’m taking Sheamus down!!!!

Okay, try to calm down…I think it’s a pretty interesting start of a feud here. Hopefully they’ll have this going good till…I don’t know Elimination Chamber at least. Anyways, I love that the crowd is pulling for Randy. They’re slowly making him a face…but not really…more like tweener…but more heel. Am I making sense? You know what I mean right? Anyway, I like it, it’s great. This is going to get Randy in a whole new level…He’s already great now…pretty soon, he’ll be the greatest ever!! :D

With the exception of the Randy Orton and Legacy segments….Raw was awful. Unfortunately it’s what I’ve come to expect of the show since the guest host concept started. By the way it needs to dropped ASAP

As for the Legacy/Cena-Kofi match, I really liked it. The ending was slightly confrontational. Looks like WWE creative officials are continuing to slowly build up the Legacy break up. Since we are being made to wait this long…it should be good. I’m sensing Ted vs. Randy at WM 26.

Randy and Chris’ match was pretty too. Loved the RKO/Randy chants! Being that he is WWE’s top heel, we come far and few in between. I hate that the match was so short though. I think those have the potential to put on a great show later on down the road. Let’s face it, that masterlock was brutal, and the RKO out of nowhere was amazing. After seeing Randy damn near choked out, I never expected for him to come back so quickly. However, that massive kick to the face pissed me off royally! After RR Sheamus will be an after thought and RKO will once again reign supreme…at least in my mind he will. I mean what in the hell was Vince (or whom ever made the decision) thinking when the idea of making Sheamus champion came across the table. To date, all he has ever done is decimate guys who weigh 5 pounds. What does say about his credibility? Absolutely nothing. He’s not prepared to carry the company. Before he can call himself a true champion, he needs to sit back, watch, listen, and learn…preferably all from Randy

@ ALL

Things on my mind:

I for one love the slow buildup to Legacy’s break up. It keeps ALL members in the loop. And yes. I will NEVER condone a main event match at WM26 between Ted and Randy. Two reasons: 1) Ted hasn’t earned enough stripes to face Randy. 2) If Ted wins the Rumble then the chance of me paying to see another five star match between Taker and HBK is now slim to none.

Aside from that, yes. Vince needs to KILL this Guest host thing. It’s destroying the show. Also, I like that HHH is turning back to his old self again. I missed the heel HHH. Nice to see him coming back. Legacy’s match was really good. Didn’t like Cody’s attitude, but I guess that’s just frustration. Also, if no one else noticed, Cody’s entrance has changed and he “pose-pins” as I like to call it lol. It’s nice that he’s defining himself – even if it’s just with the little things – it makes it’s character stand out more :D Ted needs to do that lol

Finally, Sheamus is DEAD come Royal Rumble. He booted Randy’s perfectly chiseled face that was craved from gold and expects the greatness that is Randy Orton to sit and take it????? A punt would be too good for this tan-less no name. Make it a minimum of three punts Randy. That ought to get the message across :D

I wasn’t shocked when Sheamus kicked Randy in the face. He’s done it before.
Sheamus spends his time kicking people in the face and beating up smaller people XD
I hope RR will be good with Randy winning without ‘help’.
And i think it’s a little unfair to judge Sheamus on his paleness.
just saying XD

I like the Legacy tension, they guys are just doing so well with teasing a possible implosian of the group. The guest hosts crap needs to stop already, that’s all I am going to say on the issure. I bitched enough to my brother about the Randy and Shaemus stuff at the end. I do like the angle, heel vs heel. I think at the most Randy will probably be a tweener. He’s just too good as a heel to go face but awesome enough for fans to want to cheer for him.

I don’t have the slightest clue who Randy could face at WM26. Even though I know that it will probably be Taker vs HBK I would LOVE to see Taker vs Randy again. I just love those two guys in the ring together. Hell even HBK vs Randy, I loved their entire feud back in 2007.

I don’t think Ted is main event status just yet as far as facing Randy at WM26. I think Cody has impressed me the most of out Legacy I wasn’t much of a fan of his at first but he’s growing to be a great heel and athlete. Ted just needs to work on something to set him apart from the rest; I think he’s a great athlete but he’s gotta get some originality. I think Ted will succeed better as a face though he just has that look.

As for Shaemus I just don’t like him. I didn’t like him on ECW and I don’t like him on RAW. I see a lot of Randy’s Legend Killer gimmick in here right now. His aggression, taking out opponents, his “kick” and just his attitude. King even went as far as saying he has a, “sick and sadistic smile” whoa King. That’s Randy’s lol. King ALWAYS says that about Randy when he smirks or smiles. Ugh, it just irritated me. And what was up with King calling Randy, Randy SAVAGE. Was he high? LOL.

Men!!!…You read my mind completely! and i back-you-up a 100%.

*********
Guy,

#The Guest Host issue is out of the question…i mean we all noticed the increase in attendance right from the day one of its birth.
Vince loves money..,and the Guest Host idea is his perfect spinner.
Randy is even at an advantage you know….with the Guest thing i mean.
General Managers are like puppets in Vince’s hands.
Teddy on SMACK-DOWN is a perfect example.

#Ted can kiss my **** if TED VERSUS RKO will happen at WM26.
Like you said if anyone in Legacy should have a shot, then it should be Cody.
Left for me, I would luv either===>Taker, HBK, Kane, or Hunter but definitely not Cena.

#The RKO on Masters was perfiecta…wow!!!!….picture perfect and outta no where as usual…lol.
The masters lock was sickening though, but as usual RKO got through.
Tank goodness those p.issues didn’t affect his co-ordination.

#Seems our prey–Sheamus thinks he’s got legs..,what a massive boot!
Hope Randy maxilla & mandibles are still intact?
how dare him?
Wait till he sees what Randy will do to him at RR.
his limps, head and abdomen will be sore and swollen.
Can’t for RR

RKO RULES!!!

ORTON 1.0

Agreed . However, I just wanna say I’m utterly shocked at how much I’ve come to love Cody over Ted when back when they started out I had a hard time choosing. Cody has really built himself up. His lisp (that was apparently more audible than even Jack Swagger’s – sorry I’m a selective listener so I didn’t pick up his lisp) is gone! He’s perfecting his moves – especially the Cross Rhodes. Re-watch the Evan/Mark vs Legacy match to get an idea of what I’m talking about. He even pose-pins now lol. Plus he enters the arena a different way now. TEDDY! TIME TO STEP UP YOUR GAME! GOOD LOOKS DON’T WORK ALONE (unless you are Randy Orton who – personally – I would even PAY to watch sit down and stare into space XD)

Also, as I said before, Sheamus is DEAD come Royal Rumble. Randy will destroy the twat!!! GO RANDY! Oh and Vince should REALLY give Cena a break and let him go home to his family and STAY there for as long as it takes so that Cena can recuperate, sit down, rethink his life and go work at Burger King.Just KEEP THAT FALSE WRESTLER AWAY FROM RANDY ORTON AND HIS TITLE FOR ALL ETERNITY!

RKO FOR LIFE!

@Joel

I’m with you about Cody and Ted. Cody had definitely just stepped it up since her first debuted back in 07. I have a horrible time choosing which one I like more out of the two.

As for RR…as much as I want Randy to win I have a feeling that he won’t. I don’t think the WWE is going to have Shaemus drop the belt so soon. Though it has been done in the past, you just never know with the WWE. I am hoping for a long drawn out feud between the two of them. I love Randy as face but I won’t say I don’t smile when I hear those RKO chants. I just noticed that when he’s a heel his fans chant “RKO” but when he’s bording face he gets “Randy” chants lol. That’s all you heard back in 04-05 during his first face run.

Randy could probably be a huge face, there is no doubt in my mind. He would get Rock like standing ovations back in the day and he’s so much over now. Seeing him as a complete face is sketchy like I said before he could make it work being a tweener.

I can’t wait for next week’s RAW, hopefully Randy will have some retribution.

Side Note: I would pay money to watch Randy stare into space as well ;) .

Action or Sci-Fi looks more like the kind of movies he should be in…you know, with the ass kicking lead hero or the mysterious dark hero/anti-hero who ends up doing the right thing anyway. But this one will do. :)

@ AK127

Randy in a movie is going to be AWESOME! I MUST WATCH IT ON A SCREEN NO LESS THAN 40INCHES! Why? Well, Randy – as I found out recently after getting a new, and larger TV- looks A HELL of a lot better on bigger screens! I know. Impossible right? How can a man who already transcends all that is hotness look any HOTTER?! Well he does on big screen so him in a movie – if it shows in theaters – is GOLD!

And the plot? WHO CARES?! Hell he could be starring in a third Marine movie or some chick-flick for all I care! It’s RANDY ORTON ON TV ACTING IN SOMETHING OTHER THAN WRESTLING!!!! And his “small part” in the movie??? Again – WHO CARES?! He’s on TV acting in a movie! I DON’T CARE IF HE WAS MOWING THE LAWN FOR FIVE SECONDS! That’s just five seconds I get to see him in a movie. And it’s just five seconds of my life that I shall record, save and make copies of just in case!

Now, I REALLY hope this doesn’t spell face for Randy. I want him to stay heel even after his movie. I’m a selfish person when it comes to Randy Orton. The man is an awesome heel! Let him stay an awesome heel!

Source: WickedLocal.com

– A Wakefield, Mass. witness has come forward and claimed the alledged assault by WWE superstar Randy Orton is not as a 15 year-old boy and his mother claim.

It is claimed by the boy and his mother that Orton spat gum in his face after he asked for an autograph. However, the witness says that a dozen kids were asking for autographs and photos from Orton, and yelled profanities at the WWE star when he denied their request. Stephen Addonizio says, “He just kept walking past them to get into his car.”
