Elsewhere backstage: Cody and Ted talked up “The Marine 2″ DVD coming out tomorrow, then they approached Randy Orton. Orton matter-of-factly said he thinks it’s time to break up Legacy. He said he’s sitting here thinking he’s wasted the last year-and-a-half of his life working with them. Orton said three men who have never teamed together before beat them last week. “I think we’re finished,” Orton said. He said none of them are champs and he doesn’t associate himself with failure. Cody said they’ve bailed out Orton so many times this year, especially in title matches. DiBiase said they’ve put their bodies on the line time after time to save his butt. Orton said he’s going to test them with two singles matches tonight. DiBiase has Bourne and Cody has Henry. Orton said he’ll be watching. Cody didn’t take Orton’s threat seriously about being kicked out of Legacy. Orton brushed that off and vowed to kick each one out of Legacy and “beat the living hell” out of them. He walked off, leaving Cody to take a deep breath.

Randy Orton then came out to the ring ahead of the Legacy matches.
Randy Orton was watching his ring entrance back from break while seated ringside. Out came Ted DiBiase, Jr. for the first Legacy survival match. Cole gave a quick plug for the new movie coming out tomorrow as DiBiase completed his entrance. Lawler suggested Orton is jealous of DiBiase being a movie star. They cut to a video package of behind-the-scenes clips from the movie. Back live, DiBiase was staring down at Orton from inside the ring. Evan Bourne then came out to face DiBiase.

TED DIBIASE, JR. (w/Randy Orton neutral ringside) vs. EVAN BOURNE
It appears WWE has addressed the most-obvious criticism of the lack of promotion/marketing for the “Marine 2″ movie by finally incorporating the movie into a storyline – the announcers sold that perhaps Orton believes DiBiase has lost his focus on wrestling with the movie role. DiBiase was in control early on, but Bourne came back with a rapid-fire top rope huracanrana and a close two count. Bourne teased Air Bourne, but DiBiase blocked and dropped Bourne face-first on the mat in the corner. That looked off when it appeared DiBiase was going for a corner turnbuckle face-plant. DiBiase then followed up immediately with Dream Street for the pin and the win. Orton didn’t appear to be convinced while DiBiase simply paced the ring post-victory.

WINNER: DiBiase at 2:31

Randy Orton was still sitting ringside, this time in the dark. He was selling complete boredom. Cody Rhodes then came out and Orton focused back on the ring. Cody shot Orton a look, then Mark Henry came out a-smilin’ for the crowd. Announcers sold it as either Henry or Orton “beating the hell out of Cody” here.

CODY RHODES (w/Randy Orton neutral ringside) vs. MARK HENRY
The bell sounded and Henry tossed Cody clear across the ring before delivering a big shoulder tackle. Henry then teased a sit-out bomb, but Cody moved and kinda rolled across Henry’s stomach like a kid jumping on dad sitting around the Christmas tree. Henry then ran over Cody with clotheslines before nailing a headbutt. Henry followed with a running butt bomb to crunch Cody’s neck into the ropes. Henry slid through the ropes on the way down and started selling a knee injury. He slapped the mat in frustration to sell it some more. Back in the ring, Cody slipped out of a press slam and took out the knee. Cody then stomped Henry’s foot and delivered a DDT for the pin and the win.

Post-match: Orton just slumped down in his chair and let his body dangle in a mix of frustration and fake enthusiasm. Orton got up from his chair and shook hands with Cody before playfully slapping him on the head to escort him away from ringside. Cody left with Orton patting him on the back.

WINNER: Cody at 2:05.

U.S. champion THE MIZ vs. KOFI KINGSTON — U.S. Title match
The action was joined in progress coming back from break with Kofi in control with multiple nearfalls. Kofi then connected with a twisting Boom Drop. He did his multiple clap motion to warm up the TiP and he connected. Miz rolled to the ropes and the ref began a count, but Randy Orton stormed the ring and yanked Kofi out of the ring for the match to be thrown out. Orton assaulted Kofi before dropping him on the floor with the RKO. Orton stared down at Kofi and the camera stayed with Orton for a while as he simply stared down at Kofi.

WINNER: Kofi via DQ at 1:32; Miz retains the U.S. Title. Rough night for Miz, who had zero offense here. Good to see WWE resuming the Orton-Kofi feud with Orton back to his awesome heel ways as one of the top characters on the roster. Good focus on Orton here.

Backstage: Mathews caught up with Randy Orton for a word. Orton said the issue with him and Kofi isn’t over until he says it’s over. Orton said he can’t think of a better way to start the new year than by kicking somebody in the skull. Orton was apparently hinting at a singles match next week here.

Man, This RAW was great!
I especially loved it when Jericho and Big Show “broke up”. lol.
Anyway, back to Randy. I REALLY want the Legacy to “split up”.
Sure, they’ve had a great year , but a Legacy vs. Orton feud would be great.

Wait….what Orton said at the end, did that mean the feud is gonna be over?

THANK YOU !!!!!! Finally!!! Raw was great last night, almost every story had a great segment!!! (And to think I almost skipped it because I was so disppointed with previous weeks!)

The Vince/Shawn/Bret Hart thing was great for all of us older fans who remember the whole Bret Montreal incident. The Cena/Sheamus thing was okay. And even the Jericho/ Big Show thing was kind of funny!

But I LOVED RANDY”S SEGMENT!!!! That’s the Orton we all know and love!!! The backstage segment was great and yes, I do think it’s time to break up Legacy (I agree with you Diianaa, that would be an interesting feud to watch….takes me back to the Evolution “breakup”). I especially loved Randy’s stipulation if Cody and Ted did not win their match, LOLOLOL…He looked so disppointed when they each one, I guess he was looking forward to beating someone up,lolol…..And just when you thought we saw the last of Randy, I loved his RKO to Kofi at the end of his match, thank God this feud is going to end!!! Time for something new and fresh for Randy!

I am definitely excited for next week’s Raw, for a change!!!!!!

That’s wat am talking about…Finally Mr. RKO has a game plan…! [that's wat i like about RKO...strikes when u least EXPECT!!!]…Kofi taught he could step on The Viper’s tail and get away with it…he has see nothing yet.

Cody & Teddy have proved that they have wat it takes to walk besides RKO…great matches!…I personally wouldn’t want Legacy to split rather i would love to see them besides Orton with Gold championship belts hanging on their royal shoulders.

As for Cena…serves him right…Kudos to Sheamus. But at the next PPV-RR…RKO will surely be champ for the 7th time!

RKO 4 LIFE!!!

A-W-E-S-O-M-E! I loved it… I think they’ve done this Orton’s Challenge to Legacy once before to kick Snuka and Manu out…I don’t know if I want them to break it up now though, although I know it’s gotta happen sometime.

Good backstage segments from Randy, as well as projecting what he needed to at ringside. Good matches from the boys as well. I wonder why Ted didn’t get a pat at the back…hehe. Are they really going to try to sell that Randy’s jealous of him being a movie star or that Randy thinks he’s losing focus on wrestling? Hmm, guess we’ll see in the next few weeks.

Oh, and I loved the RKO. Way to go, Randy! It’s not over till he says it’s over! I dig that. And man, would I love to see a punt for the New Year.

NO NO NO!!
LEGACY SHOULD DEFINITELY NOT SPLIT UP!!
Legacy are gold! They’re by far the best tag team in the WWE now – other than Jerishow (who broke up, awwww! That was sweet)
Legacy should get the titles from DX and be the top tag team in the industry. They only had one year together!
I repeat, LEGACY SHOULD NOT BREAK UP.

Raw this week was insanely GOOD! I was so taken aback at how this week was after all the crappy episodes we’ve been getting.
Randy Orton is a GOD! He is so unexpected! Deciding to break up Legacy as if it were something petty was so great to watch. And him feeling contemplate and accomplished that Legacy still had fire in them was satisfying.
Legacy OWNS, and Randy knows that.
He just wants to push Legacy a bit, so kudos to him for that!!

And that RKO to Kofi… BEAUTIFUL.
I’m glad the Randy/Kofi fued is finally going to end! Their little rivalry is so boring and ridiculous, I cant wait for how it’s going to go down next week.
I’m banking on Kofi winning – Randy is still helping to elevate him.
Although I’m waiting for that New Year punt!

RKO FOR LIFE!

No, no, NO!! I do not want legacy to break up! that would be the worst thing wwe has ever done! legacy is the best tag team in the wwe.
oh, and i read that ted warned us about him and randy having a rivarly…idk if its true, but if thats the case then i guess ted being a movie star is the start of this rivarly. dont believe what i say, DO THE RESEARCH!!

Yeah it’s about time Orton steps up his game! And I even got the Marine 2 but enough with that, I actually hope we get to see Orton vs Kofi at WrestleMania because I actually think it could make a headline. Anyways I hope Legacy doesnt break up, I hope they stay for a long time well at least as long as Evolution did

Agreed. Legacy OWNS! Big time! And Randy – being the brilliant tactician that he is – simply put his cohorts to work to get the blood flowing through the group :D I LOVED this episode of Raw (mainly because of Randy and his Legacy). Heck I could even bear the Cena/Sheamus section!

It’s funny – and righteously so – that Randy’s segment from backstage all the way to his RKO to the fake Jamaican COMPLETELY overshadowed what happened previously and after that! THIS is the Randy we all love! I have really missed the sadistic Orton mind games and outright bad-guy-without-a-conscience-and-a-hole-for-a-heart act. Thank you to WHOEVER did up this episode! :D Much appreciated! Glad to see you ahead of the game Randy!

Side note: Yes AK127! HE LOOKED SO HOT!!!!!

RKO FOR LIFE!!!!

I miss Randy Orton being the Bad-Guy-With-A-Conscience and being the guy whose heart feels and is full to the brim! I miss Randy Orton being the self assured badass who believes in himself and who I’d trust and feel comfortable and safe with and around and who allows me the honor of believing in myself as well!

Legacy sucks as a tag team! They’re NOT the “best” tag team in WWE! The Road Warriors – aka The Legion of Doom were the BEST tag team in WWE and pro wrestling!

I was actually at this taping of RAW. Randy looked so good. He sat down right in front of where I was and I almost jumped the barrier lol. Too bad they didn’t show what happened after RAW went off the air because it was kinda funny. After Cena and Sheamus’s match, Randy came out with Big Show and Sheamus and they started beating up Cena, then the cavalry came out to rescue Cena, which was DX. They came out and cleaned out the whole ring except for Randy. He was stuck in the middle of the ring with HHH, HBK, Cena and Hornswoggle waiting to pounce on him. Randy tried pleading with Cena, but he gave Randy the “you can’t see me.” So he goes to the middle of the ring and looks at DX. He tries pleading with HHH, but he tells him to go to Shawn. So does and Shawn sends him to Hornswoggle. So now Randy is begging with Hornswoggle, even gets down onto Hornswoggle’s level and shakes his hand. Well, Hornswoggle told him to suck it and then Randy took a kick to the knee from Hornswoggle, then a Sweet Chin Music, Pedigree and finally an Attitude Adjustment. The funny thing, though, was Randy’s face. The whole time he was trying not to laugh at Hornswoggle. He was so cute. You could see it was really hard for him not to laugh.
