Survivor Series 2009 Results and Screen Captures

Screen captures are now up. Enjoy!

Backstage: Randy Orton paced his locker room not happy. He walked up to William Regal and said he expected him to be ECW champion. He walked up to Ted and Cody to say he expected them to show why they are the future of WWE recently. He walked up to C.M. Punk and said he expected him to be the straight-edge World champion. Punk, arms folded, laughed and said Orton should have led by example and not been embarrassed by Kofi Kingston in the middle of MSG. Ted, Cody, and Regal were upset with Punk talking back to Orton, but Orton calmed everyone down and said they can erase these sins done against them tonight.

In-ring: C.M. Punk came out first, followed by William Regal for Randy Orton’s heel team. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase came out together next, followed by Randy Orton as the announcers talked about the problems for Orton’s team members as of late. Announcers then plugged the TLC PPV in three weeks from San Antonio. Reversing the intro pattern from the opening match, Kofi Kingston came out first for the babyface team. WWE cut to a video package from Raw of the Kingston-Orton brawl that led to Kofi’s “MSG moment” Boom Drop. After the video aired, MVP, then Mark Henry came to the ring. Out next was “the white guy” ECW champion Christian, followed by R-Truth. This announcing trio is not a good combination, by the way. It’s rather annoying Striker has to explain every multiple-syllable sentence.

TEAM KOFI (KOFI KINGSTON & MVP & MARK HENRY & R-TRUTH & ECW champion CHRISTIAN) vs. TEAM ORTON (RANDY ORTON & TED DIBIASE & CODY RHODES & WILLIAM REGAL & C.M. PUNK)
Henry and Orton started things off and Team Orton ran interference to distract the ref allowing Cody and Ted to take the knees out from under Henry. Orton then dropped Henry mid-ring with the RKO for an early pin before the first minute was up. After a pause to collect themselves, Team Kofi sent MVP into the ring, but MVP took a beating in the heel corner. Truth then tagged in and Team Orton also ran a distraction to set up Punk for the Go 2 Sleep on Truth. Punk with the pin on his new rival, Truth for another early pin. Christian entered for Team Kofi, but Team Orton went to work on him as well. Christian then blocked a corner attack by DiBiase and executed a sunset flip for a pin out of nowhere on DiBiase. After a few exchanges by multiple participants, Kofi scored a pin on Regal to even the sides at three apiece.

At 7:00, Christian and Cody battled before Cody locked his legs around Christian with a leg scissors to slow down the pace. MVP then tagged in and dropped a Ballin’ elbow drop on Rhodes with the announcers noting the local Wizards NBA team needing some help. Orton then distracted MVP, which gave Cody just the slightest opening to hit Cross Rhodes for the pin. Down to Kofi and Christian for the babyfaces. About a minute later, Christian entered and nailed the Killswitch on Cody for the pin.

At 12:00, it was two-on-two with Orton beginning an attack on Christian. Orton bumped Kofi off the apron for good measure, then walked over to Christian, who tried a surprise small package, but only scored a two count. Orton tried to follow with the RKO with a Punk distraction, but Christian hit the Killswitch. Crowd was hot for an apparent pin, but Punk broke up the pin. Christian cleared out Punk, but then Orton sprung with an RKO for the pin. So, we’re down to Kofi vs. Orton and Punk. Crowd hot for Kofi, who squared off with Orton, only to have Orton bail and tag in Punk. Announcers noted that Punk and Kofi are former tag champs. Boy, that seemed like a really, really long time ago. Kofi and Punk took their time talking out things, then they came to blows. Punk teased the G2S, but Kofi slipped out and missed the Trouble in Paradise. Both men squared off after the exchange and the crowd applauded.

At 16:00, Punk went to work on Kofi with a mat hold while the camera focused on Orton pacing ringside watching Punk do his dirty work. Kofi then broke free of the mat hold and went for a splash, only to have Punk knee him in the gut. Punk then measured Kofi for a running knee strike and he connected, but Kofi blocked the running bulldog part two. Kofi slowly went up top, but Punk crotched him and they battled up top. Kofi finally dropped Punk to the mat and came off the top with a high crossbody splash for a close two count.

At 20:00, Kofi made his fired-up comeback, but Orton distracted Kofi. Punk tried to roll up Kofi from behind, but Kofi rolled through into a pin for a three count. Orton tried to storm into the ring to follow up, but Kofi nailed him with the Trouble in Paradise kick for the pin and the win. Cole quickly drew attention to Kofi pinning two former World champs in a matter of six seconds. Eliminations: Henry by Orton at 0:51, Truth by Punk at 3:13, DiBiase by Christian at 5:10, Regal by Kofi at 6:50, MVP by Rhodes at 10:10, Cody by Christian at 11:34, Christian by Orton at 13:25, Punk by Kofi at 20:43, Orton by Kofi at 20:50.

WINNERS: Team Kofi

GRRR!!! I’m tired of Orton losing to some1 who doesnt deserve to beat him. Orton is clearly better. I understand that WWE is giving Kofi a push, but it sucks when Orton is just constantly getting beat. I think this whole feud is just one-sided.

This was ridiculous. At this rate, the WWE is going to need someone to put Orton over if they keep squashing him! Kofi isn’t even a worthy opponent in my opinion. And the only reason there is any interest at all in Kofi is because he’s in a feud with Orton. Once this feud ends, fans are not going to be interested in following Kofi. Orton elevates everyone! So why make Orton look the patsy for Kingston? This is definitely messed up. Orton has played the victim in this entire feud. And I HATED when Randy had to pull the coward-thing again and back off from tying up with Kofi – tagging Punk to go in. Kingston doesn’t have what it takes to play with the big boys – so they weaken Orton to try and make it look real. As I said – ridiculous. If they’re always so worried about sending the fans home happy, isn’t it about time they paid attention to the legion of Orton fans?

I just finished watching the survivor series and I have to admit that it wasnt that good. Both champions retained their titles even though one of DX should of won the WWE Title. But what I thought wa absoulte rubbish was how tram kingston won. I have watched almost every randy orton match since hes been in wwe and i know for a fact he os better than every member on team kingston. He took out mark henry with ease at the start. He could definetly beat kingston 1 on 1, hopefully orton gets back in the WWE title picture by then end of year and WINS BACK THE WWE TITLE!

What?? Kofi Kingston was soul survivor? You have got to be kidding me.

I cannot even begin to extrapolate how disappointed and disgusted I am with the result. There’s so many things I don’t get in this match. Randy could eliminate the ‘strongest man’ Mark Henry, and the Christian who’s definitely more talented than Kofi, but not Kofi??? And he didn’t even want to lock horns with him or anything? And when they finally do face each other Kofi only needs like 5 seconds to beat him?

They are so doing wrong by Randy…He’s gotta get an upperhand somehow. And it’s gotta happen soon.

…………….unless………..they’re gonna try to make him face, along with the rest of Legacy or just Teddy………hmm.

I am now past the point of anger. I’ve finally snapped under all this stupidity and ended up laughing hysterically while watching this. No words can describe my utter disgust towards Kofi and WWE. HOW DARE THEY TAKE DOWN RANDY?!!!! Whatever… RANDY IS STILL AWESOME!!!!! RKO FOR LIFE!!!!

I will resume watching ANYTHING related to WWE once Randy is brought back to the summit of greatness!

AK 127

The day they return Randy to face is literally the day I stop watching WWE. Randy being a good guy with the likes of Kofi and Cena would be enough for me to purge my own guts out! Teddy can do whatever the hell he wants, but Randy HAS to stay heel! HE’S THE PERFECT HEEL!!!

This is a joke Kofi beating randy come on so let me get this straight randy can beat triple h and cena and even the undertaker but randy can not beat some rubbish little wrestler so is not even from Jamaica when he says he is survivor series was a joke it really was I mean I was expecting randy to interfere in the main event and make it good but now cena wins what a superpose now let me guess at Tlc it is going to be randy Vs kofi no wait why net let kofy get a title shot against cena this has to stop raw is getting a joke wwe has to stop this otherwise I will stop watching raw as it is getting worse and worse

Yeah, he is the perfect heel. But Joel….he doesn’t have to be “Just-Like-Cena” to be an effective face. he doesn’t need to be all superman like. He can be badass and still be a sorta ‘good guy’ …like he’ll just be taking no crap from other people, but don’t really care about anyone else…take Austin for example. –A badass babyface. Like not totally a good guy but not really a bad guy. Just teetering in between.

Sometimes one needs to refresh their character…not saying he needs to refresh it now…maybe in the future. I know he’s going to be good at whatever kind of turn his character takes. He’s gone through different gimmicks in the past, and they were all effective. Making him face, if done the right way, is going to be effective.

I’d support Randy whatever role he plays.

This is really turning into an unfortunate turn of events.

First of all, let me just say that in the future, people can pick at Randy all they want for various things. They can harp on him about his style of wrestling, mic work, the way he portrays his given gimmick, anything. I, of course, think he does all those things in fabulous fashion but others have a right to their opinions. All that being said, NO ONE can ever say that Randy was the type of wrestler who wouldn’t help elevate someone else. As they say in wrestling, giving someone a “rub” by having them beat you clean or getting the upper hand in a feud. Say what you want about Randy but as opposed to other superstars, he obviously has no problem doing the job in order to make someone else look good!

While I am pleased about that because it shows what type of person Randy is both as a wrestler in and outside of the ring, I do think the WWE is going a bit overboard with this. You can have Randy elevate talent but please don’t do it at the expense of Randy. It is one thing to have Kofi Kingston have his Madison Square Garden moment- but it is quite another to follow that up by having him defeat Randy in less than five seconds at one of WWE’s biggest pay per views of the year. Granted, pay per views are not as epic as they once were, but the Survivor Series has always been one of WWE’s “big four”, along the same lines as Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, and SummerSlam. Now, allow Randy to help elevate Kofi but make damn sure you keep Randy looking as strong as possible.

The next PPV is TLC (Tables, Ladders, & Chairs). I haven’t a clue yet whether or not Randy and Kofi will meet in a generic singles bout or if the TLC rules will be involved but should the match take place, Randy absolutely must go over. Otherwise, WWE will have only achieved one thing. They will have made Kofi a superstar and in consequence, lost all credibility in making us believe Randy is a top main event level heel. I can’t, even as fan, believe that he is that great if he continues to be made a fool out of by Kofi week in and week out. It’s about time this feud has a level playing field.

So, go ahead, WWE- build up Kofi to where you want him and use the great Randy Orton to do so- but keep in mind that Randy Orton is the guy doing it- and needs just as much credit as the new guy you are trying to push.

Judy- You’re 100% right!! Let’s see what happens on tonight’s Raw!

I was fortunate enough to attend last Monday night’s Raw at MSG and the interesting thing was when Randy first appeared, a lot of people in the arena went crazy. (Funny enough, even way before he appeared that night people were singing his theme song and cheering for him to come on next!) Yes, he’s a heel but he’s such a great one that he’s built just aa big of a fan base as DX or John Cena. The whole incident was completely indicative of this feud, completely one-side. Seriously, Kofi was dragging Randy all over the place like a ragdoll and finished by putting him through the table. So many people in my section were cheering for Randy to move out of the way and take control of the right, which never happened.

Another thing has also became apparent that night in this whole Randy/Kofi feud. Is there no one available to have a great feud with Randy? Honestly speaking the WWE only has a few big superstars left: DX, John Cena, The Undertaker, and Randy Orton. Randy has had feuds with all of these people time and time again, to the point where if I see another John Cena/Triple H v Randy Orton match again I’ll be very disappointed. Randy has beaten all of these people, so who’s next? I can’t fault Kofi or the WWE for wanted to push more talent but can we please do it with more credability! The heel doesn’t always have to be embarrassed beyond belief to make the good guy look great.

Come on WWE, can we cut Randy some slack!

Judy- You’re 100% right!! Let’s see what happens on tonight’s Raw.

I love CM Punk.

Posted by TheAngelofDarkness ∙ emailwebsite

I loved CM Punk in the backstage segment, came off like the main eventer he is – only guy to be the top champion on ECW, Smackdown and Raw since the brand split and he was great in the match too.

I don’t think a loss hurts Randy, he’s past that point now. He’s a legitimate main eventer, so getting beaten to elevate a new potential star is not going to hurt him in the long run. It helps the story to progress so that they can face each other at TLC where Orton will no doubt go over Kingston.

Speaking of TLC I am assuming the title matches are going to be the ones contested under the different stipulations with matches involving Cena, Undertaker and Christian being the 3 main events what with Christian being the only guy other than Matt Hardy left in WWE to have put TLC on the map, they’ll really plug that fact. So unless Orton vs. Kingston is a tables match, considering there’s no title to hang above the ring, they will just have a normal, one-fall-to-a-finish, match at TLC

I’m so sick of Orton jobbing to Kofi I mean I understand that there giving him a push but not overratedly! Orton should get the better of Kofi at least some time! Randy will win next time! I guarentee it!

As true as your idea is… the anti-hero good guy act would never fly in this kid-oriented era.Randy – obviously – could pull it off, however, right now WWE Creative’s are SERIOUSLY lacking in ideas and ways to PROPERLY do anything! I say hold off on any change they want to give Randy… just until a) Kofi dies, b) RKO is champ, and c)Creatives GET creative.

Judy,

Totally agree with you.

I’m a fan of Randy Orton because he does his job flawlessly and because he’s hot. I understand that he needs to push over young talent, but KOFI LACKS ANY TALENT AT ALL! If Randy has to literally lie down and take a beating from Kofi then not only have they down-sized Randy, they’re making Kofi look less credible by the minute! I’ve said this before: If Ted and Cody and even Evan had to fight Randy in his prime then why the hell is Kofi allowed to beat on him week after week after painful week with Randy looking like he’d forgotten how to wrestle!

I don’t care what they do with Kofi, but if it’s gonna cost Randy – then to hell with this feud and WWE (if they let it spiral out of control).

RKO FOR LIFE!

Randy will prob go over kofi in a singles match that will finish the fued. Let’s face it this win for kofi doesn’t count it was in like a ten men match not a one on one in which we all know randy will destroy kofi.

I honestly don’t know what to say about the PPV match. Part of me is disappointed because WWE is using Randy in the worst possible way to help another superstar get over, but then the other part of me is excited because Kofi is a fresh face and RKO is the ultimate heel. This goes to show that he is willing to help get the company where it needs to be in terms in of main event talent. However, it sucks to see him getting his butt handed to him every single week. I really thought that Randy would retain his soul survivorship status by finally getting the upper hand at last night PPV, but obviously I was wrong. It will be interesting to see what happens tonight on RAW.

Some of you can’t seem to accept that Orton is going to be jobbing or something else until Cena drops the belt.
I really don’t think Cena will lose at TLC to Sheamus.
The WWE Creative is running out of ideas haha
The champ vs some random dude who is new on Raw. Why? I don’t get it. I think Cena deserves better than that x]
Yeah I am a Cena/Orton fan and I’m proud to say it xD

I also don’t get where this Kofi/Orton feud is going. Yeah it’s surprising that since Bragging Rights Kofi has been beating up Randy every week. The MSG fiht was ‘the best’. The match at SS made me laugh. One kick and Orton was out.
