Justin Roberts growled out an introduction to the guest host, Jesse Ventura. Instead, Randy Orton’s music played. He entered the ring and said his father told him all about Ventura, which is he considers himself to be a revolutionary, a radical, and someone who speaks his own and breaks his own rules. He said he wanted Ventura to prove that to him personally. He said Ventura has the power to lift the ban on his title shots against Cena. Ventura walked out in wrestling tights, a snake skin jacket, sunglasses, and his hair pulled back into a braid. “The body is back and, as you can see, I ain’t dressed like no governor tonight, I’m dressed like pro wrestling,” he said with his classic delivery. He said he’s in charge now, so what he says goes. He turned to orton and said he respects him and likes his style. “You remind me of me,” he said, adding that he stands for revolution in this country. He said he doesn’t belong to the Republicans or Democrats. He said being the Governor of Revolution, he is also the one who will bring something completely new to WWE tonight.

Ventura turned and told Orton he won’t get a title shot. He said too many of the same people day in, day out, week after week have gotten the shot at the title. He said it’s time to change that. Orton interrupted and asked if Triple H would get a shot. Or Shawn Michaels or Chris Jericho. Ventura ruled them all out. He said there will be a series of matches to earn a title shot and the qualification is none can be former champions. Then the winners will participate in a Breakthrough Battle Royal, and the winner will be the no. 1 contender. Orton told Ventura he’s making a very, very big mistake. Ventura said he’s make plenty of mistakes before. “You can’t govern and not make mistakes,” he said, but then reiterated that what he says goes.

Ventura announced Cena would face Punk. He said they’ve never wrestled before. He announced DX vs. The Hart Dynasty, adding that they’ve never faces each other before. He then introduced the first match in the one-night top contender tournament. Kingston walked out to his ring intro as Orton walked toward the back. They exchanged a tense stare as they passed one another.

Orton approached Ventura backstage. He told Jesse that he’s the victim of a conspiracy as they don’t want him to be champion. Ventura seemed to sympathize with him, but he said he set the rules tonight and can’t make special exceptions for him. He said he’s all about revolution, and that means new, not old. He said he likes that he retires old guys who ought to be retired. Orton didn’t like what he heard, but didn’t protest any further.

Evan Bourne came out to face Primo Colon. Then Primo stepped onto the stage. Orton ambushed Primo and beat him down near the stage. Then he walked to the ring and told the ref he’s in the match now and ring the bell. Ventura appeared on the big screen and told them to shut things down out there. He addressed Orton and said he’s been on his case since he arrived tonight. He said because he’s been persistence, rules are made to be broken. He said he broke every rule when he wrestled and when he announced, and he can break his own rules. He said he’ll break a rule just for him. He said if he can beat Bourne, he will put him in the battle royal and get a chance at the World Title. “Persistency pays off,” he said. “I like your style.”

EVAN BOURNE vs.RANDY ORTON — Qualifying Match
Orton threw Bourne into the ringpost and scored an early two count. He quickly catapulted him into the bottom rope for another two count. Bourne made a brief comeback and hit a double flying knee drop onto Orton for a near fall. Orton turned a springboard bodyblock attempt by Bourne into a powerslam. Bourne then gave Orton an RKO for the win.
WINNER: Orton in 2:00.

BREAKTHROUGH BATTLE ROYAL — #1 contender match

Back from break, everyone was in the ring except for Randy Orton, who slowly walked out to the ring to get the match started. Sheamus stood out early on for just waiting back in the corner looking to pick his spot. McMahon with a quick unintentional plug for the new “Blind Side” movie, saying the key to a battle royal is to protect your blindside. Meanwhile, Orton slipped to the outside and waited for his moment. McMahon and Ventura traded barbs while the action slowed to a crawl. They followed with a debate on the WWE refs allowing Orton to stay on the outside. Ventura told McMahon to hire new refs, while McMahon shot back that Ventura has power. And so the dilemma of absolute power in the Raw storylines continues. And out went R-Truth via Sheamus at 2:55 for the first elimination. Batista doesn’t have to worry about anything tonight. Ventura said the only problem he has with Sheamus is he needs a suntan. MVP was then knocked out of the match. Henry teased eliminating Sheamus, but Legacy saved Sheamus.

At 4:00, Henry eliminated both members of Legacy. Sheamus then snuck up behind Henry to dump him out. So now it’s Orton, Sheamus, and Kofi. A graphic flashed “Voices of: Jesse Ventura, Vince McMahon.” Thanks for the heads up, WWE. Kofi and Orton paired off against each other, then Sheamus tried to get involved, but Orton dropped Sheamus with the fallaway backbreaker. Orton then tried to eliminate Kofi, but Kofi skinned the cat and eliminated Orton. Orton did the big bug eyes after being eliminated. WWE stayed with a camera shot of Kofi and Orton, then Sheamus came up from behind Kofi and eliminated him for the win.

WINNER: Sheamus at 6:23 to become #1 contender.

The funny thing about tonight’s Raw was that it was as expected.

Randy was eliminated by Kofi and Sheamus won the title shot. Thus giving John Cena a new (and seemingly worthy) opponent and fresh storyline!

Why can’t they find the same thing for Randy! He’s stuck in this middle card stuff. Instead of giving Kofi the push to the big leagues, Orton’s getting pulled down to the middle card matches. I was glad, he started the show tonight but I thought it would have been a better story to see Orton and Sheamus go at it, two heels. They played off a similar style. During the Battle Royal, both stayed out of it as long as possible and eliminated some people, I loved the stare Randy gave Sheamus and it would have been interesting to have had them as the final two. But oh well, maybe the WWE knows what it’s doing here and Randy’s situation my improve. However, I won’t hold my breath for it to be soon. It’s so predictable that at TLC it’ll be Randy v Kofi in Tables, Ladders and Chairs match!

I actually enjoyed tonight’s RAW. Got a lot of Randy and some pretty good matches; some of which were a little predictable but good nonetheless.

Randy is pushing Kofi and I don’t think it’s holding him down at all. He has the power to make a main eventer out of Kofi and he’s doing exactly that. Kofi is holding his own and is pretty believable.

I’m hoping to go to TLC when it comes to San Antonio. I would LOVE to see Randy in action.

Well since I’m just going off what I’m reading here I’ll say this – I’m glad I was too busy watching grass grow. I love Randy, but this feud really does nothing but drag him down. Kofi is just plain annoying and truthfully I’d much rather have him battle Cena (at least they both match when it comes to lack of wrestling ability)

Oh well, TLC is next so I guess I may as well wait until that arrives and see if WWE gets their brain back and fixes this groundless feud.

RKO FOE LIFE!!!!

Gen,
Believable or not, Kofi lacks marketability. At least when he was pretending to be from another country people bought into it, but now he reminds me WAY too much of MVShe – an annoyance, hindrance and eyesore. I get the whole push over talent thing but that applies to people WITH talent. Kofi has none of that.

Well, I shall wait until TLC in hopes that Randy takes a ladder and bashes Kofi’s head in.

RKO FOR LFIE!!!!

Ah! I’m so stupid! This entire time I’ve been wasting my energy on hating Kofi that I forgot the most basic and important thing! No matter WHAT Randy does, I’ll always be on his side!!! I haven’t even commented on how hot he looked in those pictures! RANDY IS HOT!!!!

I’ve finally come back to my senses. RKO FOR LIFE!!!!!

I totally agree with you, Ford31083. Orton and Sheamus had great heat. I would have loved to seen them square off. A fight bewteen them would have been much more realistic and believable – as opposed to the flailing arms and legs of Kingston desperately trying to look like he belongs in the ring with Orton. At least Cena gets a worthy opponent. Orton remains saddled with Kofi. And DX selfishly refuses to put anyone over – not even making the Hart Dynasty seem like a threat at all.

Randy needs competition worthy of his talent. Kofi is not on Randys level. WWE can’t be serious by letting Kofi win over Randy at Survivior Series . Ha! what a laugh.Kofi needs to go back to where ever he’s from.Randy will be CHAMP again. I LOVE RANDY ORTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joel: I dont care if you are gay or not, all that matters is that you’re right. RANDY LOOKED HOT! Idk if i was the only who noticed that Orton had a little facial hair, but I like it, it was hot! Now if only he would grow his hair out a bit.

I liked Raw. It was interesting to have some new matches. I was getting tired of the same old stuff WWE has been doing lately. I think Randy’s time to shine will come again soon. For now I think he is doing a good job helping Kofi move up.

Joel: Before Kofi dropped that lame accent I didn’t care for him at all, I still don’t. I didn’t pay attention to his match with Dolph Ziggler this past RAW. There was hardly any crowd reaction but when he goes up against Randy he gets pops. We can’t have the same guys over and over in the main event scene. I am a big RKO fan and when first started out he was really green and look at him now. He’s precise, aggressive and a force to be reckoned with. He was full of raw talent and now has come to be one of the WWE’s top guys. I do think Kofi Kingston has talent and it just needs to honed. It is believe that Randy has a lot of pull and if he didn’t want to be part of this feud he wouldn’t be. He obviously sees something in Kofi. He has said in past interviews that he’s trying to make younger superstars into competitors for him in the future. Just like Triple H did with him. Randy is a top heel and yeah it’s going to look unbelievable to have a midcard face fued with him and get the upper hand but it’s entertaiment in the end. I don’t like how one-sided the feud has been lately though.

There are tons of guys in the WWE with talent that are not getting the push they deserve. I think Kofi should be allowed his shot. If he crashes in a ball of flames then that will be that. Right now, I’m enjoying the feud. It’s something new. Randy will be back on top we all know that but if he can build up another superstar then what’s so wrong with that? He is building Kofi’s character, it’s not going to happen over night. Would I like him to feud with someone else? Yes but I can deal with Kofi for now.

I am interested, however, who you would like to see Randy feud with.

I’m going to be straight up and tell you that I really don’t care who Randy feuds with. I really just can’t stand Kofi for the sole reason that Randy has to stoop (yes stoop) to mid card level just to put over Kofi. Right now Kofi’s talent is hidden/buried somewhere underneath this fiasco and once WWE gives a decent match between the two where Orton puts out his all and so does Kofi (rather than have the initial lying down and taking blows) then I will probably be interested in this. Seriously, I do understand that this is necessary and Randy did say he wants to push new and up-comers. However, Ziggles vs Kofi proved that Randy is the one carrying most of the weight in their feud because honestly no one cared enough to even cheer Kofi on.

Talent wise… I have yet to see that in Kofi. He’s got some moves – I’ll give him that – but I agree that he just probably needs to hone his skills. However, even if he showcased honed talent and excellent mic skills, he just doesn’t bring anything, or exact anything from me. To be honest I don’t know what’s lacking but it’s lacking.

TLC will hopefully put Kofi over the way Survivor Series could not.

oh where’s your sense guys? youre enjoying this feud? kofi and orton? if there’s going to be a feud the superstars involved in it should have the same talent but now we have the 6 time world champion the almighty legend killer being screwed up by a piece of crap that has hardly won anything at all? first he busts up orton’s car,the he slaps him then he puts him through a table, pins him and eliminates him from a battle royal?!! The wwe is getting more pathetic every week

Agreed. Kofi was a US Champ for a good while, so truthfully he should have some knowledge on how to wrestle on a upper mid card level. I mean Ted and Cody are also under Orton’s wing and yet they are able to pull forth both intense and somewhat electric matches. They’re a far cry from making me crave for anything, but that’s just because they haven’t done so many singles as has Kofi. Back when Randy was a greenhorn he stood out like a sore thumb because he had that “it” factor. Before this groundless feud, Kofi was literally a nobody. And yet, after this feud he may very well go full circle.

TLC may prove me wrong.

Joel:

Okay, okay, I can see what you mean. I seriously just don’t want to see RKO/HHH/Cena for the billionth time so I’m going to take this for what it is. The WWE is trying something with Kofi and everyone deserves a shot. I would LOVE to see The Hart Dynasty be given a shot to shine but they have to lose to Cryme Time and DX.

I really don’t care for Kofi either way. I’m not a fan. Randy carries him but Randy carries a lot of other superstars. Cena and Batista are two of them, but I’m with you on survivor series. I didn’t believe that for a second. Seriously, two former champions pinned in six seconds by Kofi Kingston?? No, I don’t think so.

I’m waiting for a one on one match between Randy and Kofi. I just think Kofi needs a gimmick change. To what? I don’t know. He already dropped the accent now he can change his gear and drop the lame ass music.

TLC better be good.

Agreed! NO MORE Randy vs Batista/Cena /HHH again! Yeah, Kofi’s music has got to go. Legacy made the right move when they changed their tune because it brings out their cockiness more.

TLC HAS to be good! It’s already watchable because Randy is in it (biased? Yes), but overall it all depends on WWE. So we’ll wait and see.

I’d rather watch a thousand Randy/Cena matches than sit to stare at Randy/Kofi fueds. The fued isn’t really cooking anything interesting, and it’s getting older by the second. At least Cena/Orton had superb chemistry with other, their matches never fail to bring something new to the table every time.

Ouch… Well I can’t help but agree in a sense… I mean I really don’t wanna see Orton vs Cena AGAIN, but in comparison to Kofi vs Orton…..=_= I’d sooner suffer a few more years of Cena/Orton

Most probably,, its goin to be RKO vs Kofi… but in rather circumstances may be vince would add orton in the main event.. its highly unlikely but what not?

because randy is gr8 and may be vince gayman wants randy and kofi more

I enjoyed this Raw too! Even though I hate to admit it, Sheamus does deserve a World Title shot and its cool that Orton put him over, But I know that Randy will get his Title back again!

I like how they make poor Randy go through all that BS with Kofi Kingston.
I am a fan of both :D and I thought the MSG fight they had was way better than that what happend at SS
Orton knocked out in 6 seconds? Come on haha.
But as long as the WWE thinks Kofi got ‘it’ poor Randy will keep jobbing to him x]
I’d rather watch Randy feud with someone like Jack Swagger ;)

And as for the title our boy won’t even get close as long as John Cena has it. And I seriously don’t think Cena is going to drop to the Sheamus. :)

@JOEL | I’d sooner suffer a few more years of Cena/Orton
haha I’d rather ‘enjoy’ that than Kofi vs Orton now that’s sad.
Former champ get’s beat so easy by former US Champ -__-
