Lilian Garcia introduced the Royal Rumble 2009 winner, Orton, who walked out onto the stage with Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, and three unknown guys in suits. Michael Cole said they understand Orton will be reprimanded tonight. Jerry Lawler said what he said last night – that Vince McMahon suffered a concussion and perhaps neck injuries. Lawler said what Orton did last week was one of the most appalling things he’s ever seen in WWE. Orton introduced the three men in suits as “my attorneys and my therapist.” He spoke slowly as he talked about being a third-generation WWE Superstar (how is that possible when “WWE Superstars” were invented in 1985; before that, WWF and WWWF performers were old fashioned “rasslers”?) Orton said he’s been diagnosed with IED – Intermittent Explosive Disorder. He read a statement saying it affects 16 million Americans where an individual, when provoked, suffers a loss of control and outbursts of physical violence. He said after being slapped by Stephanie McMahon and his job threatened by Vince McMahon, he had become sufficiently provoked. He said everyone saw his face when it was over. “I was not responsible for my actions,” he said, noting that his therapist can confirm WWE knew of his condition and did nothing about it, which is why if Stephanie McMahon chooses to fire him tonight, he will sue her and WWE.

He said that is just the first lawsuit, but there happens to be a second. He said that last night he won the 2009 Royal Rumble. Cody and Ted applauded, and so did a lot of fans. He said he is “more superior than everyone in this company” which means he will sue if he doesn’t get the main event slot at WrestleMania. He said if Steph chooses to fire him, not only will she be faced with two lawsuits, but she’ll lose Ted and Cody because they have both vowed to me to walk if he is fired tonight.

He said he had one more piece of business to attend to. He read another statement off of a piece of paper. He read an apology to Mr. McMahon and his family and all of the fans. The crowd booed him. Cole and Lawler discussed Orton blaming his actions on a medical condition. Lawler said he can’t really believe he can read an apology and get away with it. “What kind of competitor brings out two attorneys and a therapist?”

-They cut backstage to Stephanie who had her cartoon angry face on as she watched him on the monitor. Strange segment. Orton sure put pressure on the McMahons not to suspend him, as if winning the Rumble wasn’t enough. His delivery was strong, if not a touch comical given his leaning on lawyers and a therapist.

Stephanie McMahon walked to the ring to her intro song to address the Orton situation. Stephanie said he can’t give a half-hearted apology and expect to get away with what he did last week. She called him to the ring. Orton’s music played and he walked out, flanked by DiBiase, Rhodes, his two lawyers, and his therapist. Orton said if Steph fired him, she’ll be subjecting herself to a nightmare. “I’ll be gone, Cody and Ted will be gone, the star power in the Raw locker room will be crippled.” Orton’s therapist said IED is a serious issue, and ignoring his condition qualifies as extreme negligence. He said his client will not get down on his knees and apologize. He said there will be extreme consequences. She asked if that was “some kind of threat.” It’s hard to see it as anything else.

Orton said he has the legal right to be at WrestleMania because he won the Rumble. He said he will file an injunction so this year there will be no WrestleMania if he’s prohibited from competing. He asked what she plans to do about that. The rest of the Raw locker room walked out onto the stage including Jericho, Mike Knox, Kane, Jamie Noble, and the rest of the heels and babyfaces. Orton asked what they were all looking at. He said he doesn’t care if they don’t have a WrestleMania. He said he’d take each of them down with him if Steph tries to take him down. He turned and challenged Steph to fire him. He got red-faced and said, “I am begging you to fire me.” He said he’d sue this company for all it’s worth. He repeated “Fire me now! Let me hear the words your father was about to say right before I kicked him in the skull!” He leaned into her forehead and demanded to be fired. Steph said, “Firing you would be too easy.” She broke into a smile and said, “We’ve got bigger plans.”

Shane McMahon stepped out onto the stage as his music played. He looked very emotionally distraught. He took off his jacket, welled up with tears, and then took off his watch. He stepped into the ring ands tared down Orton. Orton, DiBiase, and Rhodes stepped backward as he walked toward them. Shane dove at Orton and speared him. DiBiase and Rhodes pulled him free and held him. Shane broke free with elbows and punched away at Orton. DiBiase and Rhodes again pulled him off and took him down. Shane broke free again and mounted Orton with a barrage of punches. He should be World Champion! He’s the toughest guy on the planet. Shane took Orton down with a series of punches. Orton fell back like Andre Arlovski. It’s kind of embarrassing to watch this. It’s like a flashback to Eric Emrby in World Class booking himself in a completely over the top manner to be tougher than any other men in the promotion. DiBiase and Cody helped Orton to the stage. Shane caught up to them. The other wrestlers pulled Shane away. He elbowed himself free of them, then demanded to know where Orton escaped to.

randy was great as always, but he didn’t have a whole lot of help tonight. shane was throwing the worst looking punches i’ve ever seen, and why would they make randy look so weak after he’s been so dominant the last few weeks? give em hell in st louis next week randy!!!!

Randy as always shined on Raw!! Cant wait to see what happens next with Randy-Shane storyline I think they will have a match at NO WAY OUT and Steph will show her true colors and side with Orton then he will go on to Wrestlemania and become champ thus bringing us 2 the Age Of Orton once again!!!

what the hell?! You gotta be kidding me! I so don’t like the team up of shane and steph…especially against Randy… I mean what happened to their feud? Damn, its gotta make you nervous what they got in store for Orton.

Thats stupid. As many times as stone cold stunned the whole mcmahon family, they crying over a punt lol. Stephanie wanted to cry because she knew if randy walks. WWE is out of bisness. WHo watches smackdown? Once randy gets fired who the heck is going to watch raw? WWE is smart and doesn’t wanna go out of business. So having a fued with randy will be the best choice. Randy has beaten everything wwe has to offer. Your going to have to throw the whole kitchen sink at him to stop him.

I really like the McMahons but I do think it would be a very stupid decision to fire Randy Orton. When all the well know superstars like the Undertaker, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and many others are retired Randy Orton will be the one carrying the WWE on his shoulders. People like Randy Orton are really hard to come by these days.

i enjoyed shane-o getting his licks in on randy
cant wait to see raw from st louis next week

Its all because of Shane McMahons GIANT ego! Hes gotta make the most dominant superstar in the wwe look weak in order to fulfil his self needs!

what i think is randy was supposed to make LEGACY a four member team, and he even told that each of them would be 2nd generation or 3rd generation superstars, he has 2 and the last would be shane, even he is a 3rd generation superstar.

How does that sounds??????

Oh waaa, Shane can go cry to his daddy any time!!!! He’s just being a daddy’s boy!!! He needs to stop being a punk ass and face Randy face to face. instead of catching him off guard!!! No worries, Randy is still going to Wrestlemania!!! And there is nothing the Mcmahons can do about it!!!!

why didn’t Orton fight back!!!….but i think they want it that way…steph is either in on this and orton is not fighting back this time to lure shane in on a match at NWO and then punt him there so that he’ll be out and steph will have all the power….or it’ll be part of Orton’s new character…when he’s orton he will not fight the bosses son…but when he gets more provoked he will turn into that Viper like character and RKO you then punt you in the head….

i can see Orton vs Shane at NWO or Orton vs Shane and Steph at NWO in a handicapped match and Legacy cannot interfere but Steph turns on Shane…..

also i would like to add that Randy’s promos last nite were all FANTASTIC!!! love that crazy character!!

also the ending segment with shane i felt was badly done as shane throws the worst punches ever!!! seriously….most of the punches didn’t even hit Orton or Legacy for a matter of fact and Orton had to try to sell the moves and pretend to have trouble walking….lol….it was more of a laughable joke than anything….seriously…it would have been funny if Orton no-sold those punches that didn’t even hit him and just layed their and laugh at shane…lol…are we really suppose to believe that shane has anything on Orton??..Randy Orton will squash him like a grape in real life…plus shane was lucky Orton didn’t even throw one punch and he wasn’t the Viper last night….if Orton wanted to fight shane would be in the hospital…..

i think that may be a new characteristic for Orton…he will fight when provoked and when his “voices” tells him to and sometimes he will just stand their when other “voices” in his head tells him to…kinda bi-polar character…it would be cool and no one will know which randy they are dealing with…

in reply to jane’s post: yeah, I think that’d be cool. I mean, the unpredictability of which Orton is gonna show up would be awesome. But personally, I prefer the wicked Orton instead of the one that didnt put up a fight against shane.

You’ve got to be kidding me with some of these comments. This episode with Shane McMahon was one of the worst episodes of RAW ever. Shane can’t fight. He can’t box, he can’t wrestle. He gassed out after about five punches – and then he looked like a girl in a catfight. It was ridiculous to think anyone would believe this angle, that he could overpower Randy Orton AND two other men – and even more ridiculous to throw a wrench into the build of a great story with the most talented guy in the WWE – Randy Orton. BUT, the McMahons have to be the stars – Steph, Vince, Shane, Triple H….. Let’s face it, Triple H”s star has never shone as brightly – in all his years of wrestling, as Randy Orton’s has in just five years. What they are doing is just trying to keep Randy from taking the spotlight away from Triple H. Bottom line – they’re destroying a great story with this foolishness by Shane, Steph and Vince.

What happened last night? Randy should have been able 2 take out Shane. I was hoping Randy would punt Steph next. Maybe next week?!?RKOFAN4LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by jane ∙ emailwebsite

i totally agree with everyone who thinks shane’s punches were weak and that the ending last nite was the worst ever!!…i mean seriously??? are we suppose to really believe shane can beat Orton plus Legacy?? even steph hits harder than shane!!

i can’t wait till next week where hopefully Orton listens to the “voices” in his head and goes biserk on everyone….shane was lucky he was controlling it this week by not fighting back and taking out another mamahon…rhodes and debiase didn’t fight back either cuz he’s the boss’s son…just more holding shane back and getting him away from Randy…but i think Orton was sufficiently provoked and should just have an RKO feast and run through everyone and everything that gets in his way!!

I LOVE RANDY ORTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In reply to AK127: I like the wicked Orton too. It could still make for a very interesting gimmick.

When Orton punted Vince, Randy Orton acted as if he had someone inside of his head that told him to punt Vince so he wouldn’t be fired. It was as if he had been too caught up in his thoughts and decided to do what was best for him and he is the only one who understands his actions. That’s what a psychopath is. It’s someone who makes more sense in their brain than anything else. No one sees their actions like the psychopath himself and I think that’s why Randy Orton looked regretful after punting Vince McMahon.

This week Orton didn’t even throw a punch and just layed there, trying to sell those pathetic punches (sorry shane…steph slaps harder that ur punches) and acted as if he didn’t want to take another McMahon out and is all weak but not from the punches but from controlling his own urges to punt shane. This is sorta like Orton controlling those “voices” and trying not to go psycho.

I think this would make an interesting gimmick if WWE uses it right. If Orton is put into situations like he was last night than he has to attack. And soon he will not be able to control those “voices” and this will escalate to the point where Randy Orton is no longer apologetic and he will RKO and punt everyone for fun. I think the crowd would enjoy seeing Randy Orton as malicious and psychotic heel. It would make for an interesting relationship with having an unstable Orton lead Legacy too. It would make him unpredictable as you will not know if you are getting crazy Orton or just calm Randy Orton.
