High spots: Entering the year as WWE Champion, the Legend Killer seared his place in history on the grandest stage in entertainment, retaining his title at WrestleMania XXIV, defeating archrivals John Cena and Triple H in a Triple Threat Match.

Low blows: While basking in his WrestleMania success, the joy for Orton was short-lived, as several weeks later, Randy lost the WWE Title to Triple H in a Fatal Four Way Match at Backlash. Orton’s attempts to regain his title from Triple H were unsuccessful, leading to a collar-bone fracture at the hands of The Game at One Night Stand, which derailed Orton’s title pursuits for the majority of 2008.

Crystal ballin’: With Orton fully recovered from injury, and seemingly amassing allies in the locker room (Cody Rhodes and Manu), the championship potential for Orton seems limitless. Could this be the start of the second “Age of Orton?” We’ll soon find out.

I hope 2009 will be a special year for Randy as a new world champion, he deserves it.

Hope 2009 is the Year of The Legend Killer Lady Thriller Viper-Like Randy Orton!!

I read somewhere else about the potential that Orton character has and I just want to mention it here cuz I feel is true and 2009 may be that year he actually develops into it…the jist is basically Orton’s character can be huge and he can be that bada$$ character who doesn’t think about consequences but just do whatever he likes…just like The Joker from The Dark Knight….playing that villian character but still getting cheers and drawing people in….just like the movie….between Batman and Joker…people went to go see Joker…i really think it’s interesting and Randy can really pull that character off in 2009

This may be off topic but, Randy Orton is the “Best Damn Wrestler Period”.What other wrestler you know of that can actually wrestler, play heel and still get cheered over other face characters? Now that’s what I call an Icon.

This new year is a mystery for all of us……..the FUTURE!!!! Anyways I hope this will be a better year for WWE, especially Randy Orton ….. and everyone else.2009!
